In XCC they may just have found the right elements. The aim of XCC is encourage elite riders to compete with the bait of starting positions on the front two rows of the main XCO race on offer as well as World Cup points that could be critical for the World Cup overall. The top 16 riders at the end of the men’s and women’s XCC races will be on the front two rows of the XCO. And being on the front two rows of the XCO race gives significant advantage to riders over those further back on the starting line.
